What is Open Space?

In Open Space gatherings, participants create and manage their own agenda of parallel working sessions around central themes of strategic importance, such as: Using the eight design aspirations as guidance, what are ASU’s IT issues and opportunities for enabling and catalyzing strategic innovation, community delight and operational excellence? Whether it’s a small group or the entire system, working in one-day workshops, three-day conferences, or the regular weekly staff meeting, frequent results of Open Space are improved communication, creative solutions, enhanced collaboration and increased productivity. 

 

Whoever comes are the right people. Wherever it happens is the right place. Whatever happens is the only thing that could have. Whenever it starts is the right time. When it’s over, it’s over!

 

If you are not learning or contributing, use your two feet to take you wherever you  will.

 

With any kind of group, organization, or community. • To manage complex issues in in minimal time. • To engage diverse participants in meaningful conversation and deliberation. • With little or no outside intervention.
