Welcome to the Frequently Asked Questions page. Here you will find all of our most asked questions regarding the ASU skill.

Ask ASU is a voice enabled application, better known as a “skill,” for the Amazon Alexa personal assistant. You can use the skill to ask about upcoming sports and entertainment events, business hours for ASU related businesses, or random ASU facts.

The skill will be made available in the Amazon skills store for free. Students, faculty, alumni, or anyone interested in ASU should use the skill.

The skill can be used anywhere with an Alexa-enabled device.

ASU is the #1 school for innovation, and voice is a part of the future of interfacing with the digital world. This pilot will test what a voice assistant can contribute to the smart campus of the future.

If you are a student living in Tooker house, there is a unique opportunity to have an Echo Dot in your room! For more information, please visit Engineering's website.

When the Echo Dot detects the wake word, or you press the action button on top, the light ring around the top of your Amazon Echo turns blue to indicate that the Amazon Echo is streaming audio to the cloud. When you use the wake word, the audio stream includes a fraction of a second of audio before the wake word, and closes once your question or request has been processed.
