UTO Hosts 2nd Annual ASU Data Conference

UTO CIO Lev Gonick spoke at the event.

The UTO Analytics team recently hosted and put on the 2nd Annual ASU Data Conference, a daylong event open to faculty and staff across the university dedicated to celebrating and exploring data achievements here at ASU. Over 400 attendees, 60 presenters, and 50 sessions covered a wide range of topics and ways data can be leveraged to deliver on ASU’s core missions.

UTO Deputy CIO John Rome brought Amazon Alexa fun and expertise, while CIO Lev Gonick provided a keynote on the ongoing and forthcoming data revolution. Expertise like this was represented in the numerous aforementioned sessions, but 88 nominations for the first Data Impact Awards resulted in recognition for 6 ASU faculty and staff who pushed the data envelope in innovative and helpful ways.

The 2nd Annual ASU Data Conference was also a success, in part, due to sponsors like Amazon Web Services and Alteryx. The conference reaffirmed ASU’s data-driven goals and development of exciting new ways to utilize data, and next year promises to do the same. Learn more about the event (with an ASUrite login) here.
