How do we better engage the ASU community (and beyond) with digital tools and experiences? Whether for learning, productivity or recreation, the pandemic has exacerbated the need for digitally immersive experiences that conjure the same emotional resonance as our favorite face-to-face experiences. As the most innovative university in the nation, we have a responsibility to plan for the future of the digital/hybrid in real life experience. We’re tapping the ASU community for deep thinking and discussions around developing and fostering technology-enabled and fully digital activities that advance our ability to learn, work, innovate and feel an authentic sense of belonging. Students, faculty and staff are invited to join us for this 2-hour interactive shaping of the future. Come with your lunch and your wild ideas!

The edge computing landscape enables millions of IoT devices to shape an enormous intelligent network that can perform tasks that are usually only possible in large data centers, but the shift to the merchant silicon/white box is poised to be the disruptive technology to revolutionize the IoT industry. Dr. Dijiang Huang, co-founder of Athena Network Solutions LLC and CyNET LLC, and associate professor in the School of Computing, Informatics and Decision Systems Engineering at ASU, joins us to discuss challenging privacy issues and to present a software-defined solution to address the presented privacy issues. He’ll also talk about open research issues, specifically based on edge-cloud-supported IoT services.http://links.asu.edu/Innov8
