Nick Sabato

Nick Sabato, Director of Country Programs for the Education for Humanity initiative, leads ASU’s efforts in extending educational access to refugees, displaced and communities affected by displacement in the Middle East and sub-Saharan Africa. He leads ASU’s operational efforts with the UN Refugee Agency, local humanitarian agency partners and government representatives in developing collaborative programs that prepare learners to meet their educational ambitions.

Topic: Education for Humanity

A university-wide initiative currently housed in EdPlus, leverages the university’s digital resources to extend educational access to refugee learners through blended learning programs. The online offerings are complemented by in-person facilitation in areas from English language preparation to online Masters degrees. The initiative serves nearly 600 students in Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, Rwanda and Uganda with programs launching shortly in Ethiopia, Kenya, and Djibouti.
