Derek Masseth Appointed New Executive Director of Sun Corridor Network

When it comes to building capacity for high-quality research and education, Arizona is leading the way -- with thanks to an ongoing partnership between Arizona State University, Northern Arizona University, and University of Arizona. Now that partnership touts new stewardship.

The Sun Corridor Network, Arizona’s Research and Education Network, announced today the appointment of the its new full-time Executive Director, Derek Masseth. Sun Corridor Network, a collaboration between Arizona’s three public universities, serves the needs of the education community across the State.

“Derek Masseth is a nationally recognized leader in research and education networking," shared Lev Gonick, ASU CIO and Sun Corridor Network Chair. "We are extremely fortunate that Derek has been a technology leader at University of Arizona and is now going to advance the entire state’s efforts to provide world-class broadband capacity to advance the success of our students and research activities.”



Masseth added, “I am extremely pleased to be able to assist all of Arizona’s educational needs by making sure that our schools and learners have the broadband services they need to participate in the digital age. As we enter the fall of 2020, this is a particularly important time that Arizona have dedicated broadband leadership at our universities to advance the needs of K-20 learners.”
