What is Canvas Badges?
Canvas Badges is a suite of digital credentialing tools used to create, award and store digital badges (also called micro-credentials, digital credentials, etc.)
Frequently used terms include:

Badge - as mentioned above, an award that indicates an accomplishment or skill that can be displayed, accessed and verified online

Issuer - account/individual/organization awarding badges

Earner - account/individual receiving badges from completed tasks
Why Canvas Badges?
Digital badges allow learners to be rewarded for their skills and accomplishments. They can share these badges on social media websites such as LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook to display their achievements to future employers. View all of the current badges available to ASU learners here.
Accessing Canvas Badges
- Go to Canvas Badges
- If you do not have an ASU account: follow these easy instructions to set up your account.
- If you already have an account:
- Enter your ASU email address (formatted as ASURITE@asu.edu) as the email address;
- Select “Forgot Password” to reset your password;
- Follow the instructions to reset your password;
- Login with the new password.
