ROAR: Rapid Orientation for Accelerated Results

Welcome to the University Technology Office!  

The University Technology Office is engaged across the scope and breadth of Arizona State University, the country’s largest public university. The services of the University Technology Office, or the UTO, are vast, interconnected and intertwined into the fabric of the university.

Rapid Orientation for Accelerated Results onboarding program, also known as ROAR, introduces new UTO employees to the UTO culture, Positive Core values, Leadership Principles, UTO FY Goals/objectives, Department overview coupled with warm welcomes from the  UTO CIO, UTO CCO, and from their team, assigned buddy and manager.

Over the last two years, the Rapid Orientation for Accelerated Results, ROAR Orientation has welcomed new hires to the UTO family. In a nutshell, ROAR is a research-based rapid onboarding and a year-round talent-development, community-building and mentor-support program.

Structured and embedded onboarding practices to help new hires gain the knowledge, skills, attitudes and behaviors needed to be successful in their new role within the University Technology Office and Arizona State University.


Requesting ROAR Orientation for all new UTO hires will provide a broad overview of ASU, the UTO and the services we provide to the university, and the culture that binds us all together. ROAR incorporates the Manager of the new hire as well as a “Buddy” from their new team, who will guide the new hire through their rapid onboarding process.
