White Paper Details ASU’s Connection to the Workforce of the Future

When ASU was the first higher education institution to adopt real-time collaboration tool Slack enterprise-wide, it demonstrated the model of the workforce of the future. In collaboration with Deloitte and Slack, UTO and ASU developed this white paper to chronicle the innovative approaches to communication university-wide.

The paper’s examples illustrate the forward-thinking that has already defined ASU students, faculty and staff. “We observed a large population of Sun Devil Nation already leveraging Slack,” ASU CIO Lev Gonick said. “Listening to next-generation voices has been key in our inclusive strategies as ASU continues to architect the most innovative digital campus.”

Some faculty members got a head start creating Slack workspaces for their courses, and incorporating Slack’s functionality into their curriculum. Others, in shining displays of Remote Resilience, took to Slack during uncertain times to reassure and stay connected to students. And learners are entering the ASU community by way of Slack, using it to meet new peers, instructors and friends.

ASU’s integration of Slack into its day-to-day operations and learning experiences is an acknowledgement and understanding of the ever-changing workforce of the future, keeping its community in the loop and preparing it for success.
