Nine strategic priorities pave the way for excellence at UTO in 2022

Futuristic, learner-centered and empowering: UTO has developed a new array of strategic priorities designed to support and advance the innovation taking place across ASU.

Nine priorities pave the way for excellence, beginning with Culture, Communications and Talent placing recruitment, retention and professional development at the forefront. Learning Innovation strives for digital literacy — not just for basic tools, but also immersive, “realm 4” learning experiences. Digital Trust and Information Security is what enables those learning experiences to incorporate next-generation identity management, as well as ensuring data transparency and zero-trust policies are implemented to keep Sun Devils secure. Student Success and Learning Initiatives builds upon our desire to establish an environment where learners thrive, pursuing the necessary funding for the advancement of student success.

Advancing Research is a succinct but meaningful priority, leveraging cutting-edge cyber-infrastructure to aid in computational and biomedical research. Universal Learner, a term describing a selection of first-year college courses open to everyone, now earns its place as a data-driven goal wherein marketing and data integration, along with skill-mapping pilots, bolster student experiences.

Capacity to Advance Business Agility and Outcomes seeks to advance financial planning processes, integrating technology support that includes IP network infrastructure to ultimately reduce costs. Smart Campus, City and Regions continues to emerge as a fervent goal, with a focus on digital equity driving efforts to better the lives of not only Sun Devils, but the wider communities beyond ASU. Finally, Service Alignment focuses on optimization, rethinking and redesigning ASU's technical services and delivery to bolster all learner, faculty, researcher, and staff aptitude.

These are broad summaries of the strategic priorities crafted to support exciting developments across the prior semester. Want to know more?
