Ira A. Fulton School of Engineering students recently developed a robotic dog that could take the place of a live guide dog. As part of a capstone project for a class taught by Dr. Yinong Chen, who has worked closely with the UTO Voice team, the students created the device by pairing the voice command recognition of Amazon Alexa and a GoPro camera that allows the robot to navigate. The two-semester class culminates in the development of a prototype and marketing strategy, which can lead to different contests, competitions, and other opportunities.
